THE Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors face potential sanctions from both the national and international volleyball federations for withdrawing from the Champions League set later this month in Lipa City.
The Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) said the Lady Realtors face suspension for breaching domestic regulations and are bound to suffer the same when their case is elevated to the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).
The Lady Realtors refused to pay the International Transfer Certificate fee of US$1,500 as required by the FIVB for their star player, MJ Philips, who currently plays under USA Volleyball.
Sta. Lucia pulled out of the Champions League after the draw was done last October 29.
Under the Champions League regulations as drawn by the PNVF, a withdrawal fee of P50,000 should be paid by the Lady Realtors.
The Champions League for men and women is set from November 20 to December 4 at the Aquamarine Gym in Lipa City.
